What should I wear under my regalia?
To maintain the dignity of Convocation, we ask that you dress appropriate to the occasion. No flowers, jewelry or emblems can be attached to the regalia. The robes are knee length.Academic regalia can be purchased at the Barnes & Noble Georgia Tech Bookstore. Regalia can be purchased up to the day preceding the ceremony.Notices are posted online, on the University Records Bulletin Board, at the Registrar??s Office, and at the Gown's room.

Can I keep the regalia?
Unfortunately not. The school rents regalia for each student from Jostens. Graduates must return everything but the cap and tassle to the designated collection point in the reception area before 5:30 p.m. on the day of the Commencement Ceremony. Graduates who fail to return regalia will be charged approximately $370 (purchase price of the complete regalia). Hygiene students who do not return the regalia will be charged approximately $170 (purchase price of complete regalia). WHERE CAN I RENT OR PURCHASE REGALIA?
Graduates, faculty and others participating in the ceremony must wear regalia. Please visit to rent your regalia and order your personalized Vanderbilt announcements.Students: All students purchase their regalia directly through the Bookstore (either online or in person). The deadline for student regalia orders is April 1, 2007. You may pick up your regalia from the Bookstore prior to Graduation.

When and where do I need to order my regalia (cap and gown)?

Do I need to arrive at the Colonial Center wearing my academic regalia?
Yes, degree candidates should be dressed in his/her academic regalia when they arrive at the Colonial Center on the day of the commencement exercises. Only degree candidates attired in appropriate academic regalia will be permitted to participate in the ceremony. Academic regalia consists of a mortarboard cap, academic gown, and tassel; and in the case of a graduate degree candidate, an academic hood.Contact the Office of Academic Affairs.
