By Jibran Qazi

The alcohol effects on the unborn child can range in several different areas to the unborn child. When a woman consumes alcohol while pregnant, the alcohol not only goes through the mother's blood but also into the unborn child. Brain cells spinal cells and other parts of the developing fetus are essentially damaged causing life long problems for the child. In this situation, consuming alcohol in moderation is even questionable.

In many tests its been determined that the alcohol effects on the brain range from slurred speech and the individual not being able to concentrate, focus, or think clearly; to the individual not even knowing his or her own name or address. Those individuals who have been consuming alcohol for quite some time can even have problems with his or her memory, while others actually need assistance to do some of the basic everyday functions in life. The impairments of the brain caused by continuous alcohol consumption only get worse and medically there is no cure.

The Alcohol effects on an unborn child reveal that brain cells are killed as quickly as they are developed and physical functions may also be impaired. The unborn child is more apt to have mental and educational disability or problems that are all due in part from the mother consuming alcohol while pregnant. In some situation the alcohol effects actually alter the growth of the unborn child. When the child is developing the brain of the unborn child is going through changes. If a woman has been consuming alcohol the brain of the child isn't going to mature, as it should.

Many of the medical conditions that are caused by the alcohol effects on the brain are considered chronic and debilitating. Alcohol absorbs into the blood and into the body affecting the brain as well as other parts of the body that cause an individual's health to ultimately fail. Alcohol affects on the brain in reality are potentially dangerous and irreversible, and there is no cure. Some individuals who prolong the use of alcohol can even have fatal brain disorders too.

On occasion, the pregnant mother that consumes alcohol at an excessive rate, and in high quantities even run the risk of miscarriage and stillbirth. The alcohol effects on the unborn child are phenomenal when an individual realizes they can all be avoided by not consuming the alcohol when pregnant. Women are strongly urged to avoid alcohol while they are pregnant so the risk is at a zero effect. There is no reason why children should be born in a way that is linked back to alcohol. The amount of alcohol that goes through the mother's blood stream will also go through an unborn child.
