By Roland du Preez

Most people that are trying to lose weight will go about it the wrong way. Let your body work with you, instead of against you. A starvation diet will turn your body against you, and will mess up your metabolism.

There are natural ways to lose weight, which will give you quick results.

Tip #1 Changing Your Cooking Habits

The way we prepare our food will have a big impact on if our food is healthy and low in calories. So our way of cooking has a big effect on how much weight we put on.

If you fry your food in fats and oils, you need to stop right now! This will increase the amount of calories, and it's unnecessary. Use a non-stick pan instead, without adding any oil. If you really need to add a little bit of oil, use Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It's the healthier choice, lower in cholesterol and better for you heart.

When cooking your food, keep in mind that baking the food is even better. Broiling the steaks and chicken is better still. Also, boiling some of the food or steaming the vegetables is great! This also tastes better and provides more nutrients that are still intact.

No. 2 Eating

Savour the food, relish each morsel of it and don't wolf it down. Eating used to be a time when each meal was ritualistic. We would sit around the dinner table and talk about our day with family members and eat slowly. So, what happened? Everyone is in such a rush now!

When you eat slower, your body has a chance to feel full. It's just a fact of life. As you slowly chew your food, this gives your saliva a chance to kick in and help digest everything. Eating slower helps you lose weight!

3. Lose weight by Exercising

If you run 20 miles every single day, you would probably be able to eat whatever you wanted to. But you might also be asking for a stroke or a heart attack. Finding a balance between eating right and exercising correctly will help your body lose weight. They go together like fish and chips. Sorry about the comparison.

It is important to find the right exercise when you want to burn calories and stay healthy. Targeting aerobic exercises will help your melt the pounds off.

Exercises that gets your heart rate up, such as running, dancing or cycling, are examples of aerobic workouts. Your metabolism will get kicked into a higher gear, and your calories will fly off.

If you workout with aerobics for a minimum of 30 minutes per session, you will keep your metabolism running for the rest of the day. Have as a goal to do this 4 times a week, combine with your healthy and will see magic happen. Your fat cells will actually burn off. You will burn more calories the longer you exercise.

A. Caution: If you have not been working out then move into this slowly. You will need to build up to longer sessions without possibly hurting yourself. Your body needs to adjust and build into longer exercise regimens.

B. Many individuals will use rowing machines, treadmills, stationary bikes, or have Olympic size swimming pools installed in their backyards for the aerobics. Depending on your budget, you don't need to have any equipment to do aerobic workout sessions.

There might be a community pool in your area where you can go swimming.

A lot of malls will open early so that you can use the area for power walking in a safe way. When you start looking for ways you will soon find many ways of doing aerobic workouts with paying a dime.
