How Twitter Quickly Became a Must Have Marketing Tool

By Jay NaPier

Web 2.0 can be a full time job and keeping up with the latest and greatest Web 2.0
tools takes time. Is it worth your time to use Twitter? By the time you finished reading this article, I'm confident your agree that it is.

Most business owners should be using Twitter. It's a direct connection to their clients and to potential clients. You can quickly stay connected to the people who make your business profitable and easily build a list of
potential new clients.

Over a 90 day period on Twitter, I've been able to find 900+ followers who want to see what I am doing. Twitter is much like an email list, but more effective in deliverability. When you post to Twitter your followers will have your post on their page.

The basic question you'll be answering is "What are you doing", it's how you answer this that make it an effective tool. You don't want to be Twitter Spam, but you also want to give your followers an opportunity to connect with you.

Are you ready to get the conversation going? Ask a question, like "Would you like to goto Hawaii for $199 for the week?" or "Did you vote today?" Your followers will simply reply back with a direct message (dm) by simply putting @jaynapier and answering the question.

If you want to know what your customers are thinking, this is your open page to create that 2-way conversation that will produce a stronger business. I recently saw where Dirks Bentley is offering a free tree ornament when you renew your fan club membership. It's great PR and what I feel is the best web 2.0 that
is not video.
