Minnesota Summers: Here Comes The Roof Hail Damage.

By Craig K. Albrecht

We all know the Minnesota summer: first it is cold and wet followed by intense, dry heat, and throughout. . . the chance of severe storms. It is just one of those "grin and bare it" situations. There will be wind, there will be hail, it is just expected.

The severe weather threat is high during the summer and that proves to be a difficult situation for most home owners.

Your heart sinks into your stomach as soon as the storm passes. Sure you are delighted and relieved that your family is okay, but what about your home. The siding, trees, vehicles. . . your roof, they look like they have seen a very large baseball bat in too many areas to count. There isn't anything you can do to reverse the clock, but you can do one thing to right the situation. You can hire the best roofing contractor available.

Just like a flock of seagulls, the wave of door to door roofing contractors will move through your neighborhood like a scene from The Birds.

It won't be easy to turn them down, with their incentives and amazing timelines, but be cautious. Are they local? Are they insured? Do they have a license? You need to make sure you hire the right contractor. Ask around. People are blatantly honest about their experiences and check online.

Local contractors will feature their portfolios, testimonials and licensing specifics on their sites. A little research can make the process a smooth one.
