Now You Can Maximize Bodyweight Exercises

By Dave Keal

I use to be just like everyone else. I'd go to the gym and lift weights. At first, seems like I made some good gains. But after a while, those gains were few and far between. And I like the feeling of making progress, it keeps me motivated.

Then I re-discovered bodyweight exercises. You remember those exercises that you use to do in gym class that kicked your butt? And I got that feeling back, the one of making great physical gains again.

And thenI started doing exercises with very light weight, not iron pumping exercises, but exercises that challenged me in ways like no other. And sometimes I only used as little as five pounds. I guess you could also classify these as bodyweight exercises.

Then to add to my increasing repertoire, I added exercises with kettlebells and balance exercises with the stability ball. I now have so many exercises in my routine I'll never get bored with working out again. One of the worst feelings you can have is dragging your butt into the gym unexcited for your workout.

When it's time to workout, I can't wait. Just some of the variety of exercise I've grown accustomed to:

1. Crunches on the Swiss ball

2. Pushups on the stability ball

3. Side bends on the stability ball

4. Military press on balance disks

5. Bridging on the Swiss ball

I literally have countless routines I can do. Looking forward to exercise the way I do, no wonder I'm feeling better than I ever did? Variety is your friend when it comes to exercise, start to use it and you'll never be bored again.

The Internet has been a great source of free and low-cost workout routines and advice. No need to go the infomercial route and spend a lot of money, like I once did. You may have done this too.

If I ever feel like I'm starting to get stagnant with my routine, time to pick up another gem of a book for as little as 5 to 30 bucks on the internet, and I'm back in business. Just one book adds a whole bunch of new exercises to my regimen.

I go into my workout area with my Swiss ball, my mini-trampoline and my dumb-bells and I have a better workout right in my own house than at any health club. And I haven't even touched on the money savings. It feels so good to be in shape once again!
