It was from Grafton St Andrews church that I first came to realize this horrible truth. Christian brothers and sisters you need to realize the terrible truth that most christian churches are haven for pedophile priests. Rev Gordon Ficko is one of them. I know this because I watched my 5 year old nephew become a victim of Ficko who was also a priest that I was sharing his house with. Prior to that I used to attend church every sunday with my nephews and neice as well as the priest who I was living with. Never again!!! Read further to find out why I have taken this position against the church and organized religion. I have abandoned my faith in 'the church' yet still I am a believer in God our creator saving us through his son Christ Jesus.
The beginning of my crumbling faith with the christian church started when I had witnessed the aging christian priest who I had lived with molesting my nephew. Although it was a terrible thing, that molestation in itself isn't what had totally destroyed my faith in the christian church. I will go into that as you read further. The story later revealed that the christian priest had behaved inappropropiately toward my nephew at least 5 times in total before finally getting arrested by the police.
To this day, I am still sickened by what I saw the first time I saw the christian priest kisiing my 5 year old nephew. While sitting on a reclining chair with my 5 year old nephew on his lap facing him the christian priest held my nephews head in both of his hands. While in this position the christian priest with his own strength pulled my nephews face towards his face and kissed him passionately on the lips for more then a few seconds. He appeared to have been already engaging my nephew in this kissing behavior before I appeared behind him to see what he was doing to my nephew. I watched him repeat the kissing motion at least 3 times before calling my nephew to get him away from the christian priest who just acted totally weird to my nephew as far as I am concerned.
This was around christmas time 2006. The priest was 87 at the time so I decided I should watch closer. From that point onwards I did my best to make sure the kids weren't alone with this priest who I was becoming suspicious of.
Something else bothered me about the christian priest before seeing what he did with my nephew the first time. He had a long standing friendship with a pedophile named Paul Jenkins who had offended repeatedly against male children never having learned to control his sick urges. I didn't start to find out about this christian priest's friendship with a pedophile in the beginning. The kids were already visiting me and dependent on my support every weekend. It really creeped me out that the christian priest admitted to telling his pedophile friend Jenkins that children are visiting his house every weekend. Jenkins after learning that would call the christian priest several time per day instead of once per day like he was before learning of children coming to visit his long standing friend.
As hard as I tried to avoid a second incident with the christian priest and my nephew it happened again. My diligence with my 5 year old nephew's safety around the christian priest faltered one day. This time I saw the christian priest french kissing with my nephew while being caught off guard as I was scrambling to get ready for church. I was looking for my keys when I heard my nephew who was within earshot but out of sight ask the christian priest for a kiss. I immediately stopped what I was doing in order to intervene but was too late. The christian priest already had his tongue in my nephews mouth. I knew this because as I saw him pull it back in his own mouth as it made a slurping noise while I pulled them apart from the sick passionete mouth to mouth embrace. My nephew was later seen as being confused when role playing 2 male dolls kissing each other as lovers would.
The police got video statements from the children suggesting this happened at least 5 times. They also got my statement about the 2 incidents that I personally saw. This lead to the priest receiving 2 charges of child molestation. He received another charge for breaching his conditions while on bail and attempting to contact my nephew by going to my sister's house. He was at one point incarcerated and his own son wouldn't even bail him out. He ended up getting bailed out by a former mayor of Cobourg of all people.
It wasn't long before the christian church jumped in and publically supported the 'poor aging reverand _______'. They painted him as a victim and martyr totally ignoring who the real victim was; my nephew. So the christian church garnered media and other church support and managed to muster up a $200000 legal budget. Then with a top lawyer swung a deal with the crown to have him plead guilty to breach of bail and agree to a 2 year probation involving no contact with children without adult supervision. The media then painted him as a martyr as it made the front page that the charge was dropped due to no evidence. That's a load of crap as they needed evidence to charge him in the first place.
I went to and donated to the same church who ended up supporting a pedophile who preyed on my nephew who was 5 years old at the time. I watched the news report as multiple churches came forward to publically support this sick perverted priest. Where is the humanity when the predator gets more sympathy then the victim? I now consider churches to be havens for pedophiles that are unsafe for children.
