What Is the Causes of Adult Acne

People always related acne with teenager. Most adult think that they won't get any acne after the age of 20. However, acne can be developing for the first time when someone becomes adult even after years of being relatively pimple free. Even for some cases, acne can be continuing unabated from teen years until adulthood. This situation is called as adult acne.

Adult acne is the acne that breakouts after age of twenty. Many reasons can cause acne breakouts. It can be cause by a reaction to stress medication.

People who are under high-stress levels often get adult acne easily. Rather than to the stress itself, this reaction is normally to the medication that they are placed on. Till now, the reason medication can cause acne reactions still under investigation by the dermatologist. In this case, they will prescribe additional treatment to solve this problem.

For some women, adult acne always flare-up when they stop taking oral contraceptives. Once they stop using the pills, the hormones in their body will change. Studies shows that the looks and behaves of the skin will affected by the hormones strongly. The clogged pores that related to the appearance of acne will affected by what is happening in the body hormonally.

In general, ovaries produce two hormones which are estrogen and androgen with balance concentration. Hormones can have an influence on the condition of the skin. If the balance of these hormones is change, adult acne can be flare-up. That is why acne will appear and re-appear during woman's menstrual cycle.

Besides a woman's own hormones, the ingestion of external hormones and drugs that have androgenic effects such as those contained in certain oral contraceptive medications; food products and performance enhancing drugs can affect adult acne breakouts.

You can always get effective over-the-counter drugs and treatments for adult acne. However you should know about them and get advice from dermatologist or health care provider before you taking any of those treatments.
