2007 Hybrid Cars

By Anton Rowd

Electric hybrid cars are positioning themselves along the auto industry's forefront lately following Toyota's release of its own first model last 2001 with Prius. As in all cars, the concept of electric hybrid cars is still the same. The difference, however, lies in its engine design, and the best part of it all is that car manufacturers around are bent on continually developing and improving the own lines of hybrid cars to be able to compete in the steep market. Thus, auto aficionados are guaranteed of innovative designs and quality performance. Let's take a look at some of these hybrid cars out for the year.

Toyota Prius

The 2007 hybrid car from Toyota remains to be the most reliable and most fuel efficient in the industry. For a little over $1 of gas, this vehicle can manage just about 25 miles; now that is economy. Not new to the market, the Prius has been promoting change in the automobile industry since it first appeared in 2001. It's a mid-sized car that can be well mistaken for a compact and it has the smallest tank for its class and makes sure it doesn't waste even a smidgen of fuel.

Saturn Aura Hybrid Car

For an ordinary-looking mold such as a sedan, the Saturn hybrid car is really quite the head-turner. However, a quick look under the hood would tell you that this beauty tells another story. Though it may look good for the year 2007, the Saturn may just as well be listed among the worst performing hybrids in its class for the year. As a mid-size car that laps up as much as 16 gallons of gas, its engine seems more like a thirsty Safari animal rather than a cost- and fuel-efficient hybrid car.

The Nissan Altima Hybrid

If you're looking for fuel economy, then the 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid car is just the one for you. Although you may have to spend as much as $1200 annually for gas alone, the 2007 Nissan Altima can still manage to run as far as 702 miles on full tank. At first glance, it seems to beat Toyota in this event but the real trick actually lies in Nissan Altima's gas tank that holds as much as 20 gallons of gas, allowing it to run distances with minimal stopping for gas.

2007 Honda Civic Hybrid

The 2007 Honda Civic hybrid car is probably comes nearest to beating out the competition in Toyota hybrid. The Honda Civic was reviewed as the top selling gas-car, and it seems that it can further prove its own worth in the hybrid car arena as well. The 2007 Honda Civic has slightly larger tank than the Toyota Prius, and can do 554 miles on a full tank. This is definitely quite a leap of improvement from Honda's last hybrid model. It is not surprising to surmise, therefore, that once the Prius stocks run low, the Honda hybrid would be the next best thing in the list.
