Bakugan toys are increasing everyday in popularity among kids. These toys follow the concept of the same named animated series "Bakugan Battle Brawlers", which is about some kids that discover the cards can be used to determine the fate of the universe by battling monsters from another dimension called Vestroia.
The Sega Games and Spin Masters combined effort created the Bakugan games, and follows very closely to the idea of the popular animated series. The cards from the game have the cartoon characters displayed on them just like the toys, that pop open to reveal a battle brawler when rolled out onto the field over the gate cards.
As well as the games that came earlier like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, it is also a collectible card game that utilizes the marble concept as well. Each player takes turns attempting to stand one of their spheres onto the magnetic gate cards. Even though the cards can be collected and traded, it is the transforming monster toys that are used in the game that everyone likes. There are various kinds of spheres to collect, with more being added to the collection with the rise of the games popularity.
The instructions are simple to get, and easy for any kid to understand after watching the cartoon series. The players will alternate laying down their gate cards on the field, and then rolls one of their Bakugan in an attempt to get it to stand on a card. If the battle brawler doesn't stick on a card then the other player gets a turn. When a player lands two of his brawlers on the same card, then that player wins that card. Once each player lands one of their brawlers on the exact same gate card, then the player have to duel for the card.
Next the players need to turn over the occupied gate card, and add together the G points on the gate card to the G points of each sphere and determine who wins by following the instructions on the card. The winner takes possession of the gate card and the Bakugan on it. The player that is able to take control of three gate cards first is the winner of the match.
The game is very simple, and is very fun. Different rule variation can be applied to the game also. Other items can be purchased as well to get the most out of the Bakugan games experience, such as the battle brawler shooters and the battle arena. The basic rules for the battle arena are a little bit different, but the game can be played however both parties agree to play it.
