Create A Mii On Your Nintendo Wii

By Adrian Fletcher

The new generation games consoles have many more features than just games playing. Although games remain the prime motivation for getting a console like the Nintendo wii, there are a whole host of other features that attract buyers

You can watch movies on it, browse the internet, download games, upload photos and even communicate with your buddies. Of course this presupposes that the machine is connected to the internet but nevertheless, your humble games console can connect you to the rest of the world and allow you to have sophisticated communications with them. Oh and you can play a few games too.

One thing that can be considered unique to the Nintendo wii is the mii channel. This article will go into what the mii channel is and how you can create funky miis.

When the wii boots up, your tv screen will show a bank of smaller TV screen images. These are known as channels. You can select different channels to do different things. In the case of a mii, you select the mii channel.

If you are still unsure what the mii channel is all about, then think about it this way. It is the part of the wii system that allows you to create a representation of you on the system and how you are seen by other wii users.

To this extent, you fashion the face of the mii. You can make the mii look like you or you can indulge your fantasies and create the swashbuckling pirate that you always dreamed of being. You can even create numerous miis to suit your various moods or personalities.

So how do you create a mii ? Well, you wander down to the mii plaza. This is where the mii hang out, waiting to be picked up for the next baseball game. There is a button on the left of the screen that lets you create a mii. From this point you can get creative.

You next through a series of screens that build your mii from the ground up, a bit like the bionic man or some kind of superhero. The screens cover things like gender, name, other personal details and the appearance of your Mii. You can alter the height and weight of the Mii but the most detailed changes are reserved for the face.

This can be a lotta fun as you tinker with your ideal character. Should it have a hippy feel to it or maybe the bald look. Maybe you've always had a hankering for a big afro hairdo. Indulge all your hair fantasies. You can even deck your character out with facial hair and accessories like glasses and jewelry.

It's all a bit of fun, but it can give your game play a bit more personality and originality, especially when you are playing your buddies at a wii party.

Miis, being the sociable creatures that they are can mingle too. This basically means that they can pop up on other peoples Nintendo wii consoles and feature in games. This is good for adding an extra touch of originality to your game play. You can also get ideas for new wii characters by meeting mingling miis from other wii owners.
