Learn how to use the Thompson M1A1 Airsoft Rifle

By Alexander Malroy

Airsoft games have seen a tremendous growth in the fan base and no wonder. The demand of these replica guns have seen a surge and the companies producing the guns have also increased over time.

The Airsoft Thompson M1A1 Rifle is constructed of a solid steel frame that has a weight that will satisfy and its faux wooden handle does have a grip that feels comfortable in the hands. Nevertheless, the best reason overall to want to have a Thompson M1A1 is obvious. It is the Airsoft rifle's simplicity of usage that sets it apart from other Airsoft guns available on the market. This very same simplicity of usage is what made its predecessor the M1A1 submachine gun just as popular too.

Loading the M1A1 Airsoft rifle is the simplest of matters. To change a magazine, simply feel for the C shaped lever on the left side of the gun, just above the trigger. Pressing up on the lever releases the magazine and it is pulled free with the other hand. After pouring in the pellets and priming, the magazine is pushed into place until it clicks.

If you would like to reload the gun to fire it, all you need to do is simply pull on the operating rod which is located on the right side of the rifle. The magazine can hold up to 60 pellets and 54 of them can be reused to shoot again. The gun may have a low capacity but it is this ease of reloading that does make it outstanding.

Just above the magazine release on the left are two small switches. These are the safety and automatic switches. In the front is the automatic control. In the rear is the safety. Each rotates in a half circle, allowing easy and quick selections. If one of the levers were to come off"which has happened"the user should still be able to use just their fingers to make selections, even if it does take a little more effort.

The levers rotate in a half circle and allow the user to make easy and quick selections. If for some reason any of the levers somehow come off the user of the Thompson M1A1 Airsoft gun should be able to make selections simply by using their fingers.

The peep-sight can be adjusted with fingers. Speaking of the velocity, the pellets of the Airsoft Tommy can be fired at the speed of 330+ FPS with a .20gm pellet and the speed of 420FPS can be attained with pellets weighing .12gms. The guns have amazing accuracy. The scorings can be grouped at 7 inches and 2.5 inches with fully automatic and semi-automatic rifles respectively (with .20gm pellets for both).

The ease of operation, ease in aiming, and superb power and accuracy make the Thompson M1A1 a good rifle for Airsoft games. When the features of the rifle are coupled with its authentic look and feel, it is easy to see why the M1A1 is a popular choice. Users can expect to perform well with this rifle while experiencing the closest thing to real combat.
