Say Goodbye to Internal Hemorrhoids

By Heather-Jane Hunter

Internal hemorrhoids are inflamed veins on the inside of the anal passage. Some internal hemorrhoids can be as small as a pea while others can be as big as a golf ball.

Internal hemorrhoids sometimes result in debilitating pain, most notably while passing stools or sitting down. They are most commonly identified by seeing bright red blood in or on the stool or toilet paper.

While medical experts dont know for certain what the root causes of hemorrhoids are, a number of contributing factors are known, the most important of which are discussed below.

Constipation if a key factor in internal hemorrhoids: People who remain constipated for long periods of time are at an increased risk of suffering from internal hemorrhoids. Straining too hard when trying to pass a stool can result in damage to the blood vessels in the anal canal which leads to internal hemorrhoids.

Hard Stools: Irritation and pressure caused by passing hard stools during bowel movement can result in internal hemorrhoids. One good way to avoid hard stools is to eat foods which are high in fiber (such as fruits, veges, cereals etc).

Pregnancy: Internal hemorrhoids affect up to approximately 40% of pregnant women at some stage during or after the pregnancy. This is due to an increase in blood flow and blood pressure while caring the baby in the womb. Internal hemorrhoids can also occur due to the straining during childbirth.

Weight lifting: Bodybuilders are often affected by internal and external hemorrhoids. Once again this is due to the additional strain the body goes through when lifting heavy wieghts. Exercises to specifically avoid include squats leg press which can result in significant straining of the muscles in the anal passage.

Prolonged Diarrhea: Diarrhea (when suffered for extended periods of time) can definitely agravate hemorrhoids and sometimes contribute to causing hemorrhoids. People who suffer from diarrhea should seek medical help if it sticks around for more than 48 hours.

A raft of treatment methods exist for curing internal hemorrhoids. Which one is right for you depends on several factors such as how severe the hemorrhoids are, how quickly you want a cure, recovery time, cost and convenience.

Surgical hemorrhoid cures can be very painful and very expensive. Starting at around US$1200 (price may vary depending on location) and with a recovery time of up to 4 weeks they are not convenient or realistic for everyone. Hemorrhoid surgery will definitely cure your current hemorrhoids but there is no guarantee that hemorrhoids wont return later to bother you again.

While creams, gels, and lotions work for some hemorrhoid sufferers, for others they have gone the other way and in fact worsened the condition. In many cases people complain of side effects such as burning sensations after applying the cream. Creams can also be inconvenient to apply, especially in the case of internal hemorrhoids (most creams or gels need to be applied 3-4 times daily).

Natural remedies are fast becoming recognized as a leading method to cure hemorrhoids. Being natural, they work with your body which means no side effects are noticed, and the work to cure the root cause of hemorrhoids instead of simply focusing on the symptoms of hemorrhoids. One product in particular which is known as H-Miracle has been credited with curing many thousands of hemorrhoid sufferers.
