Tighten Up Poker Pro

By Eagle Bird

One of the most pertinent facts to know when engaging in Texas hold em poker is that you have to play tight. If you have a group of players and most play loose then it's hard to get a winner. But if everyone engages in tight plays then you will have a difficult time finding a winner.

It might look like you are winning but in fact you are just losing less than the next guy. The house is going to be the winner every time. This is because everyone is playing the same game.

Always have your own style. Don't be predictable! And make sure that no one knows your next move.

The strategy is like this, in order to win; you watch for a few and see what kind of game is rolling. If it is a tight game then play loose. If it is a loose game then by all means play tight.

Tight games are played loose and vice versa. This is the way to win! You gain the upper hand in a loose game if you play tight but in a tight game you won't get the upper hand, ever.

You have to remember this because people that play this game usually know what they are doing. Players have a tendency to come and go a lot in this game. A lot of people fold right away.

A lot of people fold right away. This makes pots smaller which will make the game get tighter as you play. If your game gets too tight, you might be wasting your time.

Inevitably it would be a beautiful game if you were the only one playing in this manner. But in a loose game the odds are that isn't very feasible. Often players that are loose players will tighten up their game.

However, this usually does not last for very long. This is a game of skill and in the long run you just develop a knack for it. Just study for a while and see exactly how many people call to see the flop in every hand.

Observe all of the players. Take notice of the ones that seem to stay in on nothing and the ones that fold right away. You will then have more certainty who the ones are that stay in on anything and who stay on nothing.

Play tight. Play tight in loose games. Play in loose games only.
