Curing Constipation the Natural Way

By Sue Thompson

Constipation is considered a diagnosed condition after 3 months of difficult and strained bowel movements. It is not a disease but a symptom. Many people do not consider it to be a serious problem, but many times it is. Constipation may be an indication of a serious disease. The average person moves his bowel at least once a day but those who are constipated pass stool from one to three times every week.

What are the signs that tell me I am constipated?

If your stools are hard and dry and you have difficulty eliminating, then you are constipated. Also, your bowel movements are infrequent and spread out over a few days to a week and you have to strain to expel, sometimes even experiencing pain.

What are the causes of Constipation?

People get constipated for many reasons both minor and serious. A simple lack of exercise can be the cause but it may also be a serious disorder such as colon cancer or irritable bowel movement.

A brief list of reasons why people become constipated:

Constant Stress

Eating too much dairy products

Hemorrhoids

Not enough fiber in diet

Will a laxative solve my problems?

Practice caution. If taken regularly laxatives can even worsen your condition by causing your colon to weaken and by numbing your internal parts.

What is the ideal cure for constipation?

Chronic constipation can be remedied by eating a fiber rich diet and supplementing it with natural medication. If however this natural procedure fails to solve the problem, it is important to consult with a doctor. Your constipation may be a sign of something more serious.
