Dog Food Secrets - a Review: The Expose of the Pet Food Industry

By Miranda Concagh

As his dog, Noble, died in his arms from a lethal injection, Andrew Lewis cried.

That dark Wednesday afternoon in the vet's office is an experience many of us can empathize with, because we, too, have braved out the farewell moments we spent with a pet we loved dearly.

The thing that made Nobles death even more disquieting was his age. He died at 4 years old and, until a month before his death, appeared to be healthy, energetic and playful.

How did this happen to a dog so young?

Noble ate tainted food. Food filled with toxins. Noble was poisoned.

Tragically, Mr. Lewis had been an unknowing conspirator in his own dogs death.

Mr. Lewis stood and listened to his vet explain that Noble had died of kidney failure caused by preservatives in the commercial dog food he was fed.

The story begins with Andrew coming to grips with the untimely death of his much loved pet.

There are stages to grief. Andrew saw his grief turn into rage. From his rage came a vow. A deep seated determination.

Ive spent the past 3 years and over $12,000 of my own money researching the truth about commercial dog food and proper canine health and nutrition Andrew says in his new book, Dog Food Secrets.

To read his book is to follow him on his travels to find the secrets. His book shares some horrible facts about contents of commercial dog food, including:

***Preservatives, known to cause horrendous diseases like multiple cancers, kidney failure, liver failure, immune system collapse --- and many more

***Animals found dead on the roadside

***Dogs and cats that were euthanized

***Dangerous chemicals used to put down animals

***Plastic bags, flea and tick collars, and pet collars with I.D. Tags

The book follows Mr. Lewis through the various stages of his grief and his metamorphosis changes his focus on death to spotlight the preservation of life and health.

Here are a few of the points dealing with ways owners can protect their animals:

***Understanding the double speak on pet food labels.

***The 9 brands of commercial dog food (he couldn't find enough for a top ten list) that are healthy for your dog,

***Why natural homemade dog food is the best food for your pet

***Natural homemade dog food recipes. Over 30 are included.

***Extending your dog's life beyond normal life expectancy

The book is dedicated to Noble and all the other dogs that have suffered food poisoning at the hands of their masters. The author is determined to make certain that what Noble suffered will not be suffered by other pets. And what Andrew Lewis suffered will not be suffered other dog owners.

The book is a fascinating read.
