Magnetic Jewelry For Arthritis

By Amy Clark

One method that has been effective in alleviating arthritis pain is the use of magnetic bracelets. These bracelets are meant to improve blood flow as well as increase oxygen quantities in affected areas to lessen inflammation.

Essentially, arthritis prevents blood to flow freely into the affected areas, thus hampering circulation and progressively reducing oxygen quantities in and around the affected parts.

These bracelets, which have negative polarity, increase blood circulation in the affected regions which have a positive polarity. Therefore, improved circulation allows higher quantities of oxygen to enter the affected areas and effectively controls inflammation. The result is that the pain associated with arthritis is significantly lessened.

Magnetic bracelets and magnetic therapy have been around for several centuries, but only recently recognized by modern science as a reliable anti-pain method.

British researchers recently evaluated the efficiency of magnetic bracelets with different magnetic fields - one group was given bracelets with strong magnetic fields, others were given weak bracelets, while another group was given placebo or "dummy" bracelets without any magnetic field. After 12 weeks, it was shown that the group that wore the strong magnetic field experienced a huge arthritis pain relief, whereas the weak bracelet and placebo groups had little to no effects. This means that using magnetic bracelets can reliably alleviate arthritis pain, as long as the bracelet used has a strong magnetic field (170-200 Tesla).

In spite of the lack of definite evidence, magnetic therapy and bracelets have become increasingly accepted in the United States and in a number of other countries including the UK and Australia. In the late 1990s, overall magnetic bracelets sales reached an astounding 5 million dollars. This is understandable, owing to the fact that there are over a million arthritis patients in the United Kingdom alone. Of late, there has also been a significant increase in the use of alternative non-western techniques in treating pain and various other conditions.

In deciding to try magnetic bracelets, however, you are advised to discuss this with a physician before everything else. Keep in mind that you must not forget any medications or other treatments and trade them totally with magnetic bracelets, unless a physician asks you to do so. Such bracelets should also be avoided completely if you are pregnant, using a pacemaker or electronic implants, or currently using electric blankets or heating pads.

Also note that there are a diverse range of treatment techniques for handling arthritic pain, and not one should be discounted entirely. Other treatment methods may continue to be successful in symptom management even as you use magnetic bracelets.

A main benefit of magnetic bracelets is that they are reasonably priced. In addition, they are non-intrusive and can cause hardly any side effects not like other chemical remedies. There is absolutely nothing to lose in using this method of arthritis management. Unquestionably, it is well worth your $30-$100 to try it for yourself.

Magnetic bracelets still remain popular, as more patients are commending their reliability. Additionally, scientific researches have provided tangible evidence that magnetic therapy does work in treating arthritis pain. Therefore, if you've been experiencing arthritis pain for the longest time, magnetic bracelets can be the solution you've been searching for.
